At the Production and Investment Management Department the master's theses defense took place. The second (master's) level applicants in the specialty "Management", educational and scientific program "Management of investment activity and international projects" defended their theses.

At the beginning of the meeting of the examination board the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Management, PhD (Economics), Associate Professor Anatolii Ostapchuk addressed the students with a welcome speech, informed the audience about the rector's order on the admission of students to the defense of their works, wished the master's students success in the defense and presented Chairman of the Commission Doctor of Economics, Professor Mykola Talavirya and members of the commission: Doctor of Economics, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Lidiia Shynkaruk; PhD (Economics), Associate Professor Tetiana Vlasenkо; PhD (Piblic Administration), Associate Professor Anna Dergach.

There should be noted the high level of preparation of the master's theses submitted for defense and note that all the selected research topics stand out for their originality, innovative approach and creativity.

The extraordinary, practice-based development of business projects by our master's students attracted the greatest attention. "Business plan of investment project for packing table potatoes" is the work of Mykola Hordiychuk, in which the author made detailed calculations of the project, considering possible risks and threats. It is worth noting that Mykola Gordiychuk applied the knowledge and skills he acquired while studying at the Scientific and Educational Program "Management of Investment Activity and International Projects" to obtain a grant for the implementation of the "PAPAS Potato Hub" project aimed at increasing the capacity of post-harvest processing and packaging of potatoes for retail chains and capacity development of Agrico farms in the regions".

No less interesting and important from the point of view of the development of the agro-food sector and the production of organic products were the projects on growing pumpkins by Oleksiy Artyukh, honeysuckle by Dmytro Rekrotyuk, grain sorghum by Volodymyr Zemlyakov, strawberries by Mykola Demchenko, strawberries by Nikita Kostyuk, sea buckthorn by Anna Voloshko, currants by Ivan Borodin, and cherries by Nikita Novikov. Oleksandr Ivanov, the author of the project on cultivation of technical hemp, proved in his work that it can be used in completely different sectors of the economy. The trend of hemp products is gaining more and more popularity in Europe, which is explained by the high profitability and price of hemp products and the significant demand for them in foreign markets.

The business project for the production and export of honey by Serhiy Dodachko impressed with its novelty, because, on the one hand, it is a very well-developed branch of agriculture in Ukraine, on the other hand, considering the existing problems, it is becoming increasingly difficult for our country to remain among the leaders in honey production in Europe and in the world.

Important and worthy of attention from the point of view of the perspective of the implementation of business ideas were projects to create an art studio and a craft workshop for making candles (authors - Anastasia Shpyrko, Inna Ruchka), opening a cleaning company, creating an outsourcing IT company, a rehabilitation center for the military needs and development of the tourist company (authors – Vyacheslav Gorban, Vadim Bachynskyi, Dmytro Soyka, Hryhoriy Hisham Al-Araj).

The head of the commission, Professor Mykola Talavirya, drew attention to the fact that all the master's projects without exception deserve attention, are distinguished by their creativity, are aimed at solving the current challenges of our time, and also noted that he is confident in their further successful implementation.

The guarantor of the master's educational and scientific program "Management of investment activity and international projects", professor Lidiia Shynkaruk noted the high professional level of preparation of master's theses and discussed the possibilities of further cooperation in the development of investment projects and their successful implementation.

We are proud of our graduates, who have once again shown a high level of training and are confident in their future success, because studying at educational and scientific program "Management of Investment Activity and International Projects" is not only an opportunity to obtain modern knowledge of project management, but also the prospect of applying it to practice!

So, we are not resting on our laurels, but we have a lot of further work to implement joint projects with our graduates!

Anna DERGACH,
Associate Professor of the Production
and Investment Management Department
