October 1, 2024
The first-year students of the 9th group of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine together with their mentor Valerii Tsvilikhovskyi visited the Museum of History of the National University of Life Sciences of Ukraine. This event was important for their adaptation period and allowed the newcomers to get to know the history and traditions of their new educational institution.
Tetiana Chumak, a museum guide at NULES, spoke about the rich and diverse history of the university, starting with its foundation in 1898. She shared interesting facts about the first teachers and students, their contribution to the development of agricultural science and education in Ukraine.
Tetiana Chumak focused on important stages of the university's history, such as the opening of new faculties, changes in the structure of the higher education institution, training, and the introduction of modern technologies. She also spoke about prominent alumni who became well-known scientists, politicians and entrepreneurs, emphasizing how their activities influenced the development of the agricultural sector. For the first time, students learned about the significant events that shaped this great educational institution.
One of the most interesting moments of the tour was viewing historical photographs and documents that showed how the university has changed over time. Students were excited to see old diplomas, medals and other memorabilia that reminded them of the successes of previous generations of students and faculty.
The tour was not only informative but also useful for the freshmen. Students realized that they are part of a large community with its own unique history and traditions. This excursion will be remembered for a long time and will leave them with vivid memories of the beginning of their university career!
