Prevention and high technology
Fire danger in forests of Finland.
Finnish forests belong to the area of northern coniferous forests, however, due to gradual climate change and the human factor, they also have a risk of fire. The relatively small number of fires is largely due to a well-established system of prevention and localization using the latest technologies and equipment.
Finland is one of the most forested countries in Europe, with 71.6% of its forests. The total area of Finnish forests is 26.3 million hectares, of which 20.3 million hectares are forest lands. Climate change has led to an increase in dry seasons and the risk of forest fires, so Finnish foresters see the need for new services to prevent and eliminate fires.
