Locksmith with "golden hands"

In the distant 1981, Viktor Shcherbyna and his family moved to Cherkasy region and he started working in the Yasnozirske forestry (лісництво) Korsun-Shevchenkivsky forestry (лісгосп) as a tractor operator. Since 2002 he works as a locksmith. He knows well how the technique works, copes with problems of any complicated mechanism and knows all the details of the metallurgical business.

In 1962 with his hard-working hands, together with other foresters of the Yasnozirske, he managed to give a new life to the German car Magirus. Foresters resurrected this firefighting vehicle, which was dusting in the garage considered “off-the-road”. They have reassembled all the details, put in new engine, repainted, renewed water cannon and equipped with two pumps: one draws water from the well, another one – from any other reservoir. This miraculous machine is very useful in extinguishing forest fires, has a full drive - six to six, its tank holds 5 tons of water, and the jet reaches 50 meters. Of course, this German monster was repaired by an entire forestry, but the professional wisdom and golden hands of Viktor Shcherbyna have helped to make this vehicle’s engine finally rumble.
