Rector of NUBiP of Ukraine Vadym TKACHUK received international recognition of ICA Excellence Award

National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine received honorary international recognition — rector Vadym TKACHUK was awarded a prestigious distinction of ICA Excellence Award in the category ICA Networking. The award ceremony was held on October 16, 2025 at the Vienna city Hall as part of the 15th forum of rectors and deans of the ICA Association of European universities of life sciences.

The ICA Excellence Award is awarded to individuals who have achieved outstanding results in embodying the values and mission of the Association (ICA). Nomination of ICA Networking notes personal achievements in the development of cooperation, creation of platforms for joint learning, establishing network interaction and exchange of experience, strengthening communication between universities and strengthening the European network in research, education and innovations.

Professor Vadym Anatoliyovych TKACHUK has many years of experience in the field of international cooperation. Since 2013, he has headed the Educational and Scientific Centre for international activities, and since 2015, he has held the position of vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work, international activities and development of NUBIP of Ukraine. In May 2024, he was elected rector of the University.

Throughout his career Vadym TKACHUK actively represented NUBiP of Ukraine in the international arena, in particular, he systematically participated in meetings of the ICA Council and forums of the Association of European universities of life sciences. Under his leadership, the university has significantly expanded its network of international partners and signed numerous cooperation agreements with leading European higher education institutions. In particular, he ensured and facilitated the participation of NUBiP of Ukraine in international projects, including Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, DAAD, Twinning4Ukraine, Jean Monnet and others.

Thanks to the systematic work of the rector, the university maintains active working contacts with partner universities, in particular Warsaw University of life sciences, Wroclaw University of Natural Sciences, Wageningen University (Netherlands), Reading University (Great Britain), Slovak Agrarian University in Nitra, Prague University of life sciences and other leading universities.

The rector pays special attention to the development of academic mobility programs for students and lecturers. On his initiative, NUBiP of Ukraine launched and actively supports Erasmus+ mobility programs with ICA Network member universities, which provide students and research and teaching staff of NUBIP of Ukraine with unique opportunities for training, internships, research and experience exchange. Every year, hundreds of university representatives take part in academic exchange programs that contribute to improving the quality of education, international integration and professional development.

Professor TKACHUK is an active participant in ICA Council meetings and regularly represents our university at international forums. Thanks to his activities, NUBiP of Ukraine maintains strategic partnerships with dozens of leading European universities — members of the ICA network.

The ICA Excellence Awards 2025 ceremony was the central event of the Forum and highlighted the recognition of the rector Vadym TKACHUK's contribution in the development of European educational and scientific cooperation of universities of life sciences.
