LAND UNITY SUMMIT 2026: Ten Years of Professional Excellence, Partnership and Innovation in Land Management
On 5-6 November 2026, Kyiv hosted LAND UNITY SUMMIT 2026, marking the 10th anniversary of the Ukrainian Public Organisation «Association of Land Management Professionals of Ukraine» (ALMPU). The two-day event brought together government representatives, professional organisations, universities, businesses and international partners to discuss the future of land relations, digital transformation and Ukraine’s recovery. The National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP) played a prominent role in the summit, reaffirming its strategic partnership with the Association.

The summit highlighted the importance of cooperation between professional organisations and higher education institutions in preparing the next generation of specialists. NUBiP Ukraine, through its Faculty of Land Management, actively collaborates with ALMPU to strengthen the educational programme in Geodesy and Land Management (G18), promote practical training and integrate innovative technologies into teaching and research.

Welcoming the participants, NUBiP Rector Vadym TKACHUK emphasised the importance of the long-standing partnership with ALMPU, particularly its contribution to professional education and scientific research. University President Stanislav NIKOLAENKO highlighted the Association’s influence on national land policy, while Faculty Dean Oleksandr SHEVCHENKO noted the practical benefits of cooperation, including modern laboratories, workshops and summer schools.

The opening ceremony was moderated by Taras IEVSIUKOV, Head of the Department of Geodesy and Cartography at NUBiP Ukraine. He also moderated two panel discussions addressing the future of land relations, European standards, and the digital transformation of land and urban planning cadastres.
The summit welcomed greetings from government officials, including representatives of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, and the StateGeoCadastre. International recognition was reflected in a video greeting from Michalis Kalogiannakis, FIG Vice-President and President-elect for 2027-2030, alongside contributions from academic and industry representatives from Poland and other international partners.

On 6 November, LAND UNITY INNOVATION EXPO 2026 showcased innovative technologies and solutions for the geospatial sector. NUBiP researchers also presented their work. Professor Andrii MARTYN addressed the role of geodesy in Ukraine’s recovery, emphasising the need to remove legal barriers, open access to data and build trust. Associate Professor Anatolii POLTAVETS presented the benefits of ALMPU membership, while PhD student Oleksii KUTSENKO demonstrated how SLAM technologies can support the digital preservation of UNESCO heritage sites, using Chernivtsi as a case study.

LAND UNITY SUMMIT 2026 demonstrated that the future of land management depends on strong professional communities, high-quality education, scientific innovation and effective international cooperation.
For NUBiP Ukraine, the Association’s tenth anniversary is also an opportunity to reaffirm a shared commitment to educating highly qualified professionals and advancing innovative solutions for Ukraine’s sustainable development and post-war recovery.
A decade of professional unity is more than an anniversary — it is a foundation for shaping the future of Ukraine’s land sector.
