International internship opportunities in Turkey
International trainings in foreign research and educational institutions allow to expand the horizons of professional activity, get acquainted with current scientific and methodological developments, and start scientific cooperation with counterparts from different countries.
The International Agricultural Research and Training Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey (Izmir) offers annual thematic courses covering the issues of improving productivity and quality of agricultural production, conservation of natural resources, their sustainable use, etc.
This summer, Associate Professor of the Department of Feed Production, Reclamation and Meteorology of the Agrobiological Faculty of NUBiP of Ukraine, Anna Yarosh, participated in two trainings held at the aforementioned Center (the conditions of competitive selection allow the applicants to participate in several different educational and scientific events).
Thus, from July 8 to July 12, 2019, the Center hosted the 1st International Course on Climate Change and Drought Management. The course was attended by the representatives from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, India, Sudan, Tunisia, Jordan and Iran.
During the seminar, experts from Turkish scientific institutes, universities, research centers introduced the participants to the characteristics of climate change in Turkey, parameters and indicators of droughts, variants of creation and application of forecasting models, possibilities of application of ecological and climatic agricultural technologies, climate change impacts on the country 's resources, as well as the development of appropriate adaptation strategies in agricultural production.
Ukraine was represented by Anna Yarosh and Alla Krukivska (Associate Professor of the Department of Meteorology and Climatology of the Faculty of Geography of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv). The participants presented the report on the features of regional climate change in Ukraine.
In August, the 6th International Course on Sustainable Agricultural Water Management was held at the Center. Among the participants were representatives from Ukraine, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Sudan, Nigeria, Pakistan, India, Iran and Bahrain.
During the course, the participants discussed the issues of modern irrigation technologies, such as irrigation water quality, irrigation systems improvement and drainage, etc.
Close attention was paid to the issues of ensuring protection, improvement and sustainable use of water resources and improvement of methods and technologies of efficient use of water in agriculture. Participants were particularly interested in the use of computer programs in irrigation.
The training also included visits to the irrigation facilities of Seferihisar Ürkmez State Hydraulic Plant, where the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with innovative methods of irrigation of tangerine and olive trees, the peculiarities of process automation and the development of cooperative use of agricultural producers for optimal use of resources.
In addition to the trainings, the International Research and Training Center organizes scientific seminars, conferences and symposia.
