NUBiP of Ukraine cooperates with Kwantlen Polytechnic University (Canada)

    On March 19, 2019, Head of the Department of Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems, Rebecca Harbut, visited the Department of Agrosphere Ecology and Environmental Control of the Faculty of Plant Protection, Biotechnology and Ecology.

 

     Dr. Harbut attended the meeting with the Head of the Department of Agrosphere Ecology and Environmental Control, Volodymyr Chayka, Professor Nataliya Makarenko and Deputy Dean Julia Rybalko. Participants of the meeting discussed possible cooperation between the universities in research and educational fields, in particular, the development and introduction of joint educational programs in the field of agroecology and ecological toxicology, as well as joint practical training of ecology students from both universities. The parties reached the agreement to develop further cooperation and prepare and sign relevant documents.

     For reference: Kwantlen Polytechnic University has four campuses across Metro Vancouver, including Richmond, Langley, Cloverdale, and Surrey. The university is relatively young, but is developing rapidly. KPU offers over 120 diverse degree, diploma, certificate, and citation programs. KPU is one of the largest institutions by enrolment in British Columbia with a total of 20,000 students. The university offers hands-on practicums, which are built-in to many programs to provide professional work experience alongside in-class education. KPU students can study abroad and prepare themselves for a global marketplace. 94% of the interviewed graduates stated that if they had to choose a school again, they would return to KPU.
