Scientific Research Institute of Natural Sciences and Liberal Arts (SRI) leads and coordinates scientific research and activities of all 15 departments, five educational scientific centers, research laboratories and self-supporting units.

The staff conducts fundamental and theoretical research in chemistry, mathematics, computer science, philology, sociology, history, philosophy, culture science and pedagogy in correspondence with the following scientific and technical programs, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 24.12.2001, № 1716:
•      research into the socio-economic and political processes in Ukraine;
•      utilization and disposal of hazardous emissions and discharges;
•      instrument engineering for science and training;
•      new chemical substances and materials production.

The Institute offers students doing Bachelor’s and Master’s degree the opportunity to participate in research with faculty on a host of topics. The most efficient and science-intensive areas of research are:

•  chemistry of phosphates and polyphosphates of macro-and microelements;
•  chemistry and technology of new mineral and organic fertilizers;
•  recycling and waste management;
•  development of analyzers and methods of measuring heavy metals in the objects of environment;
•  standardized measurements for determining composition of the objects of environment;
•  methods of distance learning and foreign language learning;
•  scientific grounding of the content and forms of teaching and the use of the Ukrainian language and culture of speech in scientific research;
•  non-destructive spectroscopic analysis of agricultural products;
•  development and implementation of information technologies and mathematical modeling in   agricultural technologies;
•  social problems in rural areas under transformation.

The departments of the Institute offer training courses for postgraduate students in the following specialties:

• 09.00.05 - "History of Philosophy";
• 09.00.11 - "Religion study";
• 09.00.02 - "Logic and methodology of cognition";
• 02.00.01 - "Inorganic Chemistry";
• 01.01.02 - "Differential Equations";
• 13.00.02 - "Theory and methods of teaching" (of certain disciplines);
• 13.00.04 - "Theory and Methods of Professional Education."
