Delegation of the Department of Livestock and Aquatic Biological Resources conducts successful negotiations with Chinese colleagues

     At the invitation of the government of Zhejiang Province and the Department of Agriculture of the city of Chutsi delegation consisting of the university Dean of the Department of Livestock and Aquatic Biological Resources Vadym Kondratyuk, Head of the Chair of Genetics, Breeding and Animal Biotechnology Andriy Heti and Director of Ukrainian Laboratory of Quality and Safety of Agricultural Products Valeriy Ushkalov is on a working visit in the People's Republic of China.

     This trip is an extension of cooperation launched in 2014 between NULES of Ukraine and Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences in joint scientific research and deepening relations in educational and scientific work.

     The delegation visited the largest farm in South China, designed for cultivation and breeding ducks - Guowei Poultry Development Co. Director of the company, Mr. Li acquainted our scholars with production processes at the farm and showed laboratory quality evaluations of duck products and genetics. Incidentally, his factory is a base for scientific training of Professor of the Chair of Genetics, Breeding and Animal Biotechnology Svitlana Kostenko and senior science master of Ukrainian Laboratory of Quality and Safety of Agricultural Products Oksana Konoval.

     As a result of negotiations, both parties agreed on annual training of three students of the Department of Livestock and Aquatic Biological Resources at this factory.

     The delegation visited Zhejiang Agro-Forestry and Engineering University, where the Dean of the Department of Technology in Animal Breeding, Mr. Song acquainted the guests from Ukraine with the material and technological base, research developments and training plans and programs. This department is one of the largest in China that specializes on training technologists for production of livestock products. At the meeting of the Heads of Chairs, it was agreed to facilitate students’ and postgraduates’ exchange. This year, master’s and graduate student Petro Korol and postgraduate Olena Chepiha will pass four-months long internships in China at the expense of the host.

     At the invitation of the Department of Agricultural Development of Shaoxing Province, the delegation visited the research center of high technology, where it familiarized with scientific developments. The Chinese side was interested in the proposal to conduct on the territory of our university the assessment of quality and safety of products, that will be exported to China. Afterwards the delegation took part in a scientific seminar, where NULES, scientific developments and opportunities for further cooperation were presented.
