Scientific component of cooperation with the Warsaw University of life sciences (SGWW)
In June 2025, the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGWW) hosted a number of scientific conferences on current economic topics. Scientific and pedagogical workers of the faculty of economics of NUBiP of Ukraine took an active part on-line in these events.
On June 03, the VIII International scientific conference ESARE (Economic Sciences for Agribusiness and Rural Economy) was held on the topic «Security and sustainability of food systems». Director of the Institute of Economics and Finance of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Prof. Mariusz MACIEJCZAK; Prof. Martin BANZE from the Institute of Market Analysis of Tunen (Germany); Dr. Lisbeth DRIES from the University of Wageningen (Netherlands); Dr. Marie-Cecile DAMAVE from the Analytical Center of Agride (France) spoke at the plenary session.
The international conference brought together the work of fourteen sections, where scientists from Albania, Greece, India, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, New Zealand, Poland, and Ukraine presented the results of their research on the topic of the conference. Associate professor of the department of statistics and economic analysis Lesya VOLYAK and graduate student Maxym LAZARIDI made a report on the topic «Financial approaches to improving the sustainability of agribusiness in the context of socio-economic and environmental crises»; associate professors of the department of statistics and economic analysis Oksana MAKARCHUK and Tetiana KUTS presented the results of scientific research on the topic «Assessment of the development of the crop production industry in Ukraine».
On June 12, the V International Conference on «Economic and social consequences of crises» was held. The conference was organized by the Institute of management of this university. Chairman of the organizing committee of the conference Prof. Tomasz ROKICKI, director of the Institute of Management Prof. Joanna PALISZKIEWICZ and Prof. of the University of Agriculture in Krakow, chairman of the program council of the conference Bohdan KLEPACKI addressed the participants with welcoming words.
Twenty-two thematic sections of the conference were attended by scientists from various universities in Poland and a number of countries, namely Albania, Georgia, Italy, China, Lithuania, Slovakia, the USA, Turkey, Hungary, and Ukraine.
The faculty of economics of NUBiP of Ukraine was represented by Professor of the department of finance Yulia NEHODA, associate professors of the department of statistics and economic analysis Lesya VOLYAK, Oksana MAKARCHUK, Tetiana KUTS. Thus, Yulia NEHODA and Lesya VOLYAK presented the study «Development of financial stability of agribusiness in Ukraine in the context of the crisis»; Oksana MAKARCHUK and Tetiana KUTS — «Analysis of changes in the markets of grain and oilseeds in Ukraine in the context of global crises». The participants of the International conference had the opportunity to discuss the economic, social and environmental consequences of modern crises on the development of agricultural business; exchange ideas on further possible scenarios for the development of the agricultural sector in the context of dynamic development of new technologies and taking into account modern world challenges; analyze the European experience of regulating the agro-industrial complex and highlight new prospects for further research.
On June 26-27, the XXII International scientific conference «Global problems of agriculture and food industry» was held. This conference was held by the Warsaw University of life sciences and the Center for education in the field of nature and forest in the city of Rogow, Poland.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of agriculture and rural development of Poland; the Marshal's Office of the Masovian Voivodeship and the Warsaw wholesale market of agricultural products and food. Professors Mariusz KHAMULCHUK, Jakub KRATSYUK, Anatoliy KOVALYOV spoke at the plenary session of the conference on the topic «Strategy for the development of agriculture and rural areas of Ukraine on the way to the EU: challenges and prospects»; Prof. Szczepan FIGEL: «Technological changes in agriculture in the light of Keynes 'vision»; Dr. Agatha MALAK-RAVLIKOVSKA: «Measuring the resilience of food chains to shocks — the prospect of dynamic opportunities».
In the breakout session of the conference, associate professors of the Department of Statistics and economic analysis Oksana MAKARCHUK and Tatiana KUTS made a presentation on the topic «Analytical assessment of agricultural exports in the context of curtailing European trade preferences», and Professor of the Department of Finance Yulia NEHODA and associate professor of the department of statistics and economic analysis Lesya VOLYAK reported on the topic «State support for agribusiness in Ukraine».
Participation of research and teaching staff of the faculty of economics in international scientific and practical conferences and events contributes to further deepening of scientific cooperation with Polish colleagues.
