We are maintaining ties with Nigeria
Recently, a representative delegation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, led by Steven Azayiki and representatives of the Nigerian Embassy in Ukraine visited the University.
Stephen Azayiki is a graduate of our university. In 1980-1985 he was studying at the department of plant protection, continued his education in graduate school and in 1991 he defended his candidate thesis.
After returning to Nigeria he worked in responsible positions in the state of Bayelsa. He was the first authorized (Minister) for agriculture for some period, was the Secretary in the government, worked for the Federal government as a Senior Special Adviser for Special Assignments Minister and in the Ministry of Youth.
Today Professor Stephen Azayiki is a president of the Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Nigeria, a member of the Supervisory Board of five universities and institutes. He is heading a public organization "International Movement for the Environmental Protection of Africa (WEFFA)". He is an honorary doctor of the Institute of Potato of the NAAS of Ukraine.
Stephen constantly communicates with the native alma mater. Repeatedly participated in ceremonial gatherings of the team of the department of plant protection, presented reports. Together with employees of the chair of phytopathology Stephen Azayiki published 3 monographs, 6 manuals.
These publications are used in the training process in the university, as well as training professionals of biological and agronomic profiles in the universities of Nigeria.
During the meeting the guests expressed their interest in expansion of activities of the university graduates association, volunteered to help in rebuilding the 3rd building and agreed to enhance cooperation to attract students from Nigeria to study in NULES.
