Agrochemists hospitably welcomed scientists and guests at the department's research station

This year's Field Day was marked by a presentation of the achievements of the Dushechkin Department of Agrochemistry and Quality of Crop Production. "At the department's research station in the Agricultural Station, we have ten plots where the most common crops are sown, with various innovative fertilisation systems," says Anatolii Bykin, head of the department.

The scientists presented a mini-reactor that produces and delivers microfertilisers in real time individually for each field and crop, which is an effective tool today for efficient management of the plant nutrition system, the operation of agrodrones directly on the research plots of the station, and a collection of fertilisers with macro-, meso- and microelements of its own design for pre-sowing seed treatment and foliar feeding of plants. This unique station has a state certificate of "National Heritage".

   Students of the Faculty of Agribiology, who chose the Department of Agrochemistry and Quality of crop production named after A.I. Dushechkin, are also involved in all these scientific studies and are currently undergoing their internship at the farm and were involved in the preparation of this year's Field Day. Many of them are preparing their bachelor's and master's theses based on the results obtained at the experimental plots. And it is very pleasant that they, together with their supervisors, presented them at the Field Day even before defending these works.

   A pleasant and impressive surprise for the participants of the field day was the tasting of French fries and potatoes from the new harvest, which the guests really enjoyed. The peculiarity of these dishes was that they were prepared in the field, and even more special was their preparation by the teachers of the department, from the head and the most experienced academics and professors to young assistants.

So, agrochemists will impress not only with their scientific research but also with their culinary tastes.
