March 20, 2023
Doing business during martial law is a very difficult matter. In addition to the primary task of self-preservation of the company, there are such global needs as providing the population with jobs and helping the army.
In order to acquaint applicants of higher education with the peculiarities of business development under martial law, on March 15, 2023, the associate professor of the Department of Management named after Professor J. S. Zavadskyi Oksana Havrysh, as part of the activities of the student scientific circle "DNA Leader", organized a meeting (on the Zoom online platform) with Artem Havrysh – financial director of LLC "Atem Group".
During the meeting, Artem Havrysh introduced the students of club and others present with the history of the development of LLC "Atem Group", noted that the first batch of ceramic tiles of the company came off the line in May 2003, and today the group of companies united by the single trademark "ATEM" includes the most powerful and modern tile production plant, a quartz agglomerate production plant and a retail network of 30 stores in Ukraine and other countries that sell products of the ATEM plant.
One of the strategic directions of the development of the student scientific club "DNA Leader" is the improvement of knowledge, abilities and skills of students-group members, acquired in the process of cooperation with practitioners. During the meeting, the general characteristics of the activity of LLC "Atem Group" were discussed in detail, the dynamics (during 2020-2022) of the company's activity indicators were given, in particular: unit cost of production (goods, works, services); the structure of elements of operating expenses; acquisition (production) of fixed assets; production stocks; production of products; net income from the sale of products (goods, works, services), the sale price of a unit of production, and others. The presented information interested the applicants of higher education, as it allowed to investigate the general characteristics of the enterprise's activity.
The speaker noted that the reasons for the decrease in production efficiency are caused, in particular: by the impossibility of purchasing raw materials, since a large part of the suppliers are located in the occupied territories; complicating the full use of the logistics component; relocation of a significant part of the staff abroad; lack of stable electricity supply and others.
At the end of the meeting, Artem Havrysh took the time to answer questions. It should be noted that the report aroused extraordinary interest among applicants of higher education, accordingly there were many questions. The students were interested in the following questions: how LLC "Atem Group" supports communication with clients and partners in the conditions of martial law; what range of products is exported and by what means; what is the role of the leader in the company; what are the business prospects and whether there will be demand for the company's products in connection with active hostilities and others.
The participants of the meeting were not only members of the student scientific club "DNA Leader", but also applicants of higher education of the first (bachelor's) level of the 3rd year of the full-time study of the Faculty of Agrarian Management. Also interested in the meeting were applicants of the second (master's) level of higher education of the correspondence form of study of the educational program "Management of Organizations and Administration". Those present expressed their sincere gratitude to Artem Havrysh and wished for further meetings.
