On February 6, 2023, the 2022/2023 spring semester began. Employees of the Department of Biochemistry and Animal Physiology named after Acad. M. F. Gulyo, despite problems in the energy sector, a full-scale war in the country, rocket attacks performed their pedagogical duties according to the existing schedule of classes. Lectures were given and laboratory classes were held for students of many specialties. For this, various platforms are used, as well as electronic training courses created by scientific and pedagogical staff of the department on the educational portal of our university.
Professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Animal Physiology named after Acad. M.F. Viktoria Anatoliivna Gulogo Hryshchenko held an introductory lecture and the first laboratory classes on the discipline "Animal Biochemistry" for students of the 1st year of the SC Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, specialty 211 "Veterinary Medicine".
Associate Professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Physiology of Animals named after Acad. M.F. Valery Tsvilikhovskii of Gulyo held a lecture on the discipline "Medical Biochemistry" with students of the 2nd year of the Faculty of Food Technology and Product Quality Management of the Agricultural Industry, on the specialty 229 "Public Health" and on the discipline "Biochemistry in Animal Husbandry" with students of the 1st year of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Aquatic Bioresources , specialty "Technology of production and processing of animal husbandry products".
Students of the 13th group of the 2nd year of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (specialty "Veterinary hygiene, sanitation and expertise", OS "Master") listened to a lecture on the topic "Water-mineral exchange. The state of water in the body. Macro- and microelements". The lecture was delivered by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Ihor Kalinin using the Google Meet platform.
Lecture on "Biological membranes. Water and minerals in animals and plants, biochemistry of transmembrane transfers of minerals and organic matter" (Biological membranes. Water and minerals in the body of animals and plants, biochemistry of transmembrane transfers of minerals and organic matter) to students of the 9th group of the 2nd year of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (specialty "Veterinary Medicine") was read in English by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Liliya Hryhorivna Kalachniuk.
The lecture on the optional discipline "Biochemical processes of the cell" on the topic: "Biological material and its selection" also aroused great interest among students.
Students of the second year of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine continued their study of the discipline "Animal Physiology". Doctor of veterinary sciences, assistant professor Larisa Volodymyrivna Kladnytska gave a lecture on "Physiology of breathing" and laboratory classes on the topic "Physiology of blood circulation" to students of the 2nd year of groups 5-9 of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Olena Vasylivna Zhurenko, gave lectures on "Substance and Energy Metabolism" for students of the 2nd year of 1-4 and 13 groups of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Students of the 1st year of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Aquatic Bioresources, major "Technology of production and processing of animal husbandry products" and students of the 1st year of the major 017 "Physical Culture and Sports" (Humanities and Pedagogical Faculty) listened to the first lectures on the disciplines "Physiology of Farm Animals" and "Human Physiology and motor activity and sports" respectively.
Candidate of Veterinary Sciences, Associate Professor Dmytro Kryvoruchko held an introductory lecture and the first laboratory classes in the discipline "Animal Physiology" for students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, specialty 211 "Veterinary Medicine" of the reduced term of study.
Candidate of Veterinary Sciences, senior lecturer of the department Vitaliy Zhurenko during laboratory classes explained to the students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine certain issues of "Physiology of Blood Circulation", and students of the 1st year of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Aquatic Bioresources, majoring in "Technology of Production and Processing of Livestock Products" mastered the topic "Reflex. Reflex arc".
Students of all faculties, who attended lectures and laboratory classes of the department, worked actively, with great interest, asked questions, participated in discussions. Student attendance at lectures and laboratory classes was quite high - 85-90%. We note that, despite the difficult time for our country, the conditions of martial law, students have a burning desire to continue their studies, and our department will do everything possible to facilitate this.
