Visit of teaching staff of the information technologies faculty to Berliner Hochschule für Technik (BHT, Berlin, Germany)
As part of the development of international academic cooperation, representatives of the faculty of information technologies of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine paid a working visit to Berliner Hochschule für Technik (BHT, Berlin, Germany).

The Ukrainian delegation included representatives of the department of computer systems, networks and cybersecurity — head Dmytro KASATKIN and associate professor Semen VOLOSHYN. They took part in a series of working meetings with representatives of the leadership of BHT, NUBiP of Ukraine and the National University of Food Technologies. The main focus of the negotiations was on the development of cooperation within the framework of the international DAAD project, prospects for academic mobility, joint scientific research and modernization of technical education.
Head of BHT international division Olivia KAI conducted a tour round the academic campus, introduced the buildings, academic premises and other structural divisions of the University.


During the visit, representatives of the faculty of information technologies held open lectures for BHT students and presented modern approaches to training IT specialists in Ukraine. Considerable interest among German students and teachers was aroused by the demonstration of the computer system «Smart Campus», which is used to alert participants in the educational process, organize communication between students and teachers, as well as to monitor the microclimate of the premises of Building No. 15.


During the visit, special attention was paid to getting acquainted with the laboratory and scientific and technical base of Berliner Hochschule für Technik. Representatives of the Ukrainian side visited modern laboratories of automation and industrial control systems (head – Professor, Dr. Roland KIRCHBERGER), where training stands based on Siemens PLC industrial controllers, sensor systems and elements of industrial networks were demonstrated. The delegation also got acquainted with the laboratories of robotic systems, which use mobile robotic platforms, autonomous transport modules and training robotic complexes for modeling production processes.




Special interest was aroused by the laboratories of packaging technologies (head – Professor, Dr. Stefan JUNGE), where automatic control systems and modern production lines for the production and formation of various types of packages were presented. During the tour, participants got acquainted with laboratory equipment for testing the physical parameters of packaging materials, measuring loads and conducting applied engineering research in the field of packaging.



No less interesting was the excursion to the BHT specialized technical library, which contains a significant amount of modern literature on programming, artificial intelligence, computer engineering, robotics, electronics, network technologies and cybersecurity. The Ukrainian delegation noted the high level of material and technical support of the University and the practical orientation of educational laboratories.

The meetings were held in a warm, friendly and constructive atmosphere. The parties actively discussed the possibilities of implementing joint educational projects, conducting academic exchanges and organizing joint scientific and practical events. Such international visits contribute to the exchange of experience, development of partnerships and integration of Ukrainian IT education into the European educational space.
