NUBiP of Ukraine – partner of the EIT Water project as part of the Allwaters consortium
The National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP of Ukraine) is part of the European consortium Allwaters, coordinated by Aarhus University (Denmark), which will implement the new EIT Water innovation community aimed at strengthening Europe's water sustainability and developing modern solutions in the field of aquatic and marine ecosystems.
The European Institute of innovation and Technology (EIT) is a body of the European Union and a component of the Horizon Europe Framework Program, which brings together leading universities, research institutions and businesses in the Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) format to address key challenges through innovation and entrepreneurial education. The new EIT Water Community has become the tenth KIC and focuses on developing innovations in water, marine and freshwater ecosystem management, combining science, education and business into a single European innovation ecosystem.
The EIT Water Project aims to overcome three challenges: water scarcity, droughts and floods; degradation of marine and freshwater ecosystems; and the transition to a circular and sustainable economy. For this purpose, it is planned to develop entrepreneurial educational programs, support innovation-oriented research, create and accelerate startups, as well as introduce new technologies and solutions for the water sector at the level of the whole of Europe.

The Allwaters consortium brings together 50 partners from 24 countries, including leading universities, research organizations, industrial companies, ports, non-governmental organizations and small and medium-sized enterprises, ensuring a high level of multidisciplinary and international cooperation. The participation of NUBIP of Ukraine in the consortium underscores the growing role of Ukrainian scientific institutions in shaping European policy in the field of water safety, sustainable nature management and development of the agricultural sector in the context of climate change. It is planned to establish eight Co-Location Centers (CLCs) in key European cities, which will provide direct access for students, researchers and entrepreneurs to EIT tools and innovative services in the water sector.

Participation of NUBiP of Ukraine in these processes opens up additional opportunities for joint research, implementation of the results of scientific developments in the agricultural and environmental sectors, strengthens the European integration of the University and promotes the training of highly qualified specialists of a new generation.
