Student Yana Prokhorenko: My calling is a psychologist

I cannot believe that the first semester of study at NULES of Ukraine in the "Psychology" specialty has passed so quickly. During this short period of my life at the university, I have felt the support and high competence of tutors who not only bring quality material, but also love their work.
It is easier to work and develop when you are in the circle of your like-minded people ‒ this is confirmed by twenty-six of my classmates, who are becoming more and more aware of human psychology every day and strive for new knowledge and skills.

Various creative and artistic activities at the faculty help to show creativity and to know more about each other. "Freshman Debut" ‒ made it possible to see everyone in the team-work, and also helped to see different personalities. I had the incredible pleasure of experiencing the emotions of the freshman year.
I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that the project has a School of Practical Psychology project. After all, in my opinion, in addition to theoretical training gaining experience and practical training for the future psychologist is very valuable. I attended a number of workshops within the project. This school gave me the opportunity to learn more about working with different social categories. For example, during the workshop “Psychological support of subjects of the educational process in the system of inclusive education”, the psychologist shared her unique experience of working with autistic children and their parents. The specialist provided valuable information on the realities of working with such clients.

During another workshop on systemic family psychotherapy, I, like other future psychologists, had the opportunity to analyze my own family relationships. In my own experience, I became acquainted with the basic principles of systemic psychotherapy.

Therefore, I can proudly say ‒ my expectations for training as a psychologist at NULES of Ukraine are justified!
