Participation in BioHorizon International Events offers new opportunities

July 12, 2019
In early July 2019, “BioHorizon Interactive Training. Opportunities for proposers in the H2020 SC2 Work Program” (2.07.2019) and “BioHorizon SC2 and KET-B Brokerage Event” (3.07.2019) took place in Brussels (Coordinator - Bozena Podlaska; BioHorizon project; EU H2020 Research and Innovation Program; Grant Agreement No. 652637; https://www.ncp-biohorizon.net/).

Head of the National Contact Point "Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture, Marine and Maritime Research and the Bioeconomy & Biotechnology" on the basis of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Liliia Kalachniuk, participated in these events in order to establish new and strengthen the existing contacts for possible future cooperation with foreign counterparts - potential partners in creation of H2020 joint grants.

The main goal of the BioHorizon events in Brussels was to provide the most complete information and training for future successful applications for the H2020 Work Program and the next Horizon Europe program; to acquaint the participants with Social Call Challenges 2 of the Horizon 2020 Work Program and to organize bilateral meetings for partnership development and creation of consortia for potential H2020 grants during the BioHorizon SC2 and KET-B Brokerage Event.

During “BioHorizon interactive training. Opportunity for the Proposers in the H2020 SC2 Work Program”, small groups of participants formed the main points of H2020 applications, following the recommendations of the BioHorizon leaders Bozena Podlaska, Saske Hoving and Matteo Sabini.

During the “BioHorizon SC2 and KET-B Brokerage Event” some useful recommendations for the formulation of H2020 competitive proposals were presented in the form of reports by event organizers; flash-presentations were presented simultaneously in three sections: Sustainable Food Security (1), Rural Renaissance + Blue Growth (2), Food & Natural Resources + KET-Biotech (3), and Liliia Kalachniuk participated in 10 bilateral meetings together with future potential coordinators or partners of H2020 proposals, who represented various universities, private companies, and EU NCPs.
