Reflecting on the problem of environmental protection, we take into account the challenges of a changing world
The development of students' environmental culture is one of the priority areas of every instructor’s educational work. Ecological education aims at affirming students' knowledge of nature as the only basis for the origin of life on the Earth, forming their beliefs about the need for humane attitude to the environment, personal responsibility for the future, the ability to perform activities, carefully protecting the environment.
That is why on October 29, 2019, with the assistance of the Dean of the Faculty for Humanities and Pedagogics, Doctor of Philology, Professor Vasyl Shynkaruk, the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of English for technical and agrobiological specialties held an international scientific-practical seminar “Reflecting on the problem of environmental protection, we take into account the challenges of a changing world”, its purpose having being to form students' understanding of the relationship between man and nature, to cultivate a caring attitude towards wildlife, to focus on the contemporary problems of the ecology of our planet, since every person must be at the same time harmonious and in relation to nature. The guest speaker for the seminar was Brooke Alexander Manning, a Peace Corps volunteer from the United States.
Students of technical and agrobiological specialties participated in the seminar. The conversation took place in a friendly and casual atmosphere. The seminar was very interesting and informative, passed in dynamic and interactive mode. The event proved to be relevant for students of technical and agrobiological specialties, as the content of their future professional activity is directly related to solving environmental problems.
We express our gratitude to the US Peace Corps in Ukraine, hope for further fruitful cooperation and believe in improving the ecological situation on our planet, preserving its natural resources through the efforts and competence of our trainees - future specialists in the technical and agrobiological fields of knowledge.
