All-Ukrainian dictation of national unity, or Spiritual holiday at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine

The All-Ukrainian dictation of National unity is one of the great events that unite Ukrainians into a “free, new family.” This patriotic and intellectual event was launched in 2000 by the National radio company of Ukraine. It takes place every year on the Day of Ukrainian writing and language, a celebration of celebrations, a holiday of holidays that makes us think about the greatness of the native word, its heroic and tragic fate, its mysteriousness that is not fully understood, and its invaluable role in our earthly existence.

The dictation traditionally consists of 100-120 words, each of which is nationally grounded and faceted with distinctive colors. Those who write it without mistakes are awarded prizes - cash prizes, books, CDs with unique recordings by Ukrainian radio, etc.

For the 24th year in a row, NULES students have been actively participating in the Radio dictation of national unity campaign. On October 25, students from various faculties, vice-rectors, deans, professors, associate professors, lecturers, laboratory assistants, and other university staff gathered in the elegant halls to demonstrate their unwavering Ukrainianness, Ukrainian language skills, and love for Ukraine through this landmark all-Ukrainian event. They listened to every word of the text they were writing, thinking about spelling and punctuation.

 The dictation entitled “The Magic of the voice,” prepared by the famous writer Oksana Zabuzhko and narrated by writer, musician, and military man Pavlo Vyshebaba, cannot be considered simple. The essentially different discourse about “our voice, which no one will ever turn off or silence,” was filled with warmth and sincerity, truth and long-awaited peace.

Everyone did their best, tried to avoid mistakes, and also, in their own way, expressed love and respect for our admirable spiritual heritage, our mother and father language, with their hearts and souls. Many of the “students” of the “eternal teacher” - Language - volunteered to disclose their works. It is not the victory that matters, but the joy of doing something that touched the sensitive strings of the heart and soul.

On the Day of Ukrainian writing and Language, the NULES students unanimously, with dignity, and firmly declared that “everyone in his/her home has his/her own truth... and strength and will,” that “there is no second Dnipro,” that “Crimea is ours,” that all “enemies will perish like dew in the sun,” and that we will certainly “reign... in our own land.” We do not dream of evil, it is not destined for Ukrainians, but for those who seek to enslave them.  It was, it is and it will be!
