     Modern realities of public life, which is characterized by trends:
humanization, socialization, intellectualization, greening and globalization.They create a need for the development of economic knowledge, general understanding economic processes as an integral part of human life the mission is based on economic theory, through which the training of the future takes place specialists with modern scientific and innovative knowledge, development economic thinking, promoting the overall harmonious formation personality.   

   Department of Economic Theory was established in 1954 (it was the Department of Political Economy till 1993).

   The founder of the department and its head till 1961 was candidate of economic sciences L.Ovdienko.
   From 1961 to 1977, the duties of the head of the department were fulfilled by the candidate of economic sciences, associate professor K.Rozvadovsky.
   From 1977 to 2001 – candidate of economic sciences, professor V.Bilik.
   From 2001 to 2002 – candidate of economic sciences, associate professor S.Kvasha.
   From 2002 to 2016 – candidate of economic sciences, associate professor M.Rudoj.
   Since 2016, the department has been headed by Doctor of Economics, Professor M.Talavyrya.

   In the department of Economic Theory work 8 scientific and pedagogical workers with scientific degrees, among them: 2 Doctor of Economics, 6 PhDs.

   The department teaches normative disciplines, and namely: Political Economy, Economic Theory, Fundamentals of Economic Theory, Economic:macroeconomics, Economic:microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics II, Microeconomics II. Modern economic theory, Teaching all disciplines are conducted in Ukrainian and English with using innovative remote technologies. Scientists of the department work on the problems of forming a competitive market environment, reproduction of resource potential and its efficiency use, development of bioeconomy and bioenergy.

  Lecturers of the department have the appropriate qualification, carry out research, educational, methodological, vocational and educational work, publish scientific reports.
