NUBiP of Ukraine in the UI GreenMetric 2026 International Ranking

The National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine has entered the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2026. Based on this year's evaluation, NUBiP of Ukraine has ranked 1126th in the world ranking and 12th among the 38 Ukrainian higher education institutions represented in it. The university's overall score has made 5247.5 points.


This year's result continues the positive trend of NUBiP of Ukraine in the national part of the ranking. In 2025, the university ranked 14th out of 33 Ukrainian higher education institutions, moving up five positions compared to 2024. In 2026, NUBiP has improved its result by another two positions, despite an increase in the number of Ukrainian participants to 38. Thus, over two years, the university rose from 19th to 12th place among Ukrainian higher education institutions.



Overall competition in the rankings has also changed. If in 2025 UI GreenMetric included 1745 universities, then in 2026 their number increased to 2016 institutions from 110 countries worldwide. Despite the rating expansion, the relative position of NUBiP of Ukraine improved — in 2025, the university outranked about 37% of participants, and in 2026, it outranked over 44%.


UI GreenMetric evaluates universities' activities in sustainable development and considers approaches to organizing university space, resource utilization, energy, transportation, education, scientific activities, and management.


This year, the evaluation has been conducted across 7 main categories. NUBiP of Ukraine received 710 points for Setting and Infrastructure (SI), 1075 points for Energy and Climate Change (EC), 775 points for Waste (WS), 325 points for Water (WR), 950 points for Transportation (TR), 875 points for Education and Research (ED), and 537.5 points for Governance and Digitalization (GD).



The Governance and Digitalization category became a new component of the UI GreenMetric methodology in 2026, supplementing the six areas by which universities were previously evaluated. It covers issues of sustainable development management, digital transformation, and the use of technologies in managing the university environment.


Participation in UI GreenMetric allows the university not only to see its position among higher education institutions in Ukraine and the world but also to separately evaluate results across various components of sustainable development. The National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine demonstrates positive dynamics in UI GreenMetric, with gradual improvement in its ranking among Ukrainian universities and growth in results across several key areas. The obtained indicators make it possible to identify areas requiring further attention and to take them into account when developing university infrastructure, educational and research activities, and the management system.
