Gernsbach 2026: an international experience that inspires students

In February 2026, students of the faculty of information technologies of our university successfully took part in the prestigious International Gernsbach DAAD Mobility Program. This initiative, organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in collaboration with Berliner Hochschule für Technik (Berlin University of Applied Sciences), aims to develop professional skills, exchange experience and communication with international students.

The University's curriculum included five days of training in the production and improvement of paper products. This period included topics such as procurement and preparation of material, chemical additives to improve printing, color theory, process automation, and technical implementation of the production line.

The lectures also discussed subtleties and tricks that would help to improve the skills of employees. Students also tried out all the acquired skills in lectures and laboratory classes in a simulation of a paper production machine developed by university graduates and lecturers. At the end of the five-day training, students wrote an exam in English on the material they studied and received a certificate of completion of the training from Berliner Hochschule für Technik.

In addition to the curriculum, there was an opportunity to visit German cultural values such as the Reichstag and the Schloss Charlottenburg palace museum, and visit the beautiful places of Gernsbach where students were living.

The participants were students from various courses and specialties of the faculty of information technologies of NUBiP of Ukraine:

Yuriy MYKYTYN — 4th year, specialty «Software engineering»
Snizhana MARKELOVA — 3rd year, specialty «Economic cybernetics»
Dmytro DUZHIY — 2nd year, specialty «Computer science»
Ivanna BUSETSKA — 2nd year, specialty «Computer science»
Artem CHABAN — 3rd year, specialty «Computer engineering»

The program participants noted the high organizational level of mobility, a well-thought-out structure of the educational process and a favorable atmosphere for professional development. Modern material and technical base, equipped classrooms and innovative approaches to teaching have created comfortable conditions for effective learning and teamwork.

Especially valuable for students was the opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with practical activities: during workshops and project work, participants solved real cases, worked with current technologies and improved communication skills in the international environment. This format allowed not only to deepen professional competencies, but also to increase confidence in their own professional capabilities, get new ideas for further training and motivation for development.

This trip was a unique opportunity for students to gain international experience, establish contacts with European students and deepen their knowledge in various areas, as well as improve their language skills.
In addition to studying, the trip gave a lot of bright emotions and unforgettable moments. Students actively explored Germany: they took a tour of the ancient castle, walked through the historical streets of the city, and also visited the Reichstag Building in Berlin, where they were able to feel the atmosphere of the political center of the country.

Shared travel, cultural discoveries, and informal communication with international students have made this mobility particularly valuable.

Faculty of information technologies is proud of its students and continues to support participation in international initiatives, because such opportunities form modern, competitive specialists who are ready for the challenges of the global labor market.
