Results of the All-Ukrainian scientific and practical webinar "European choice of Ukraine: historical aspect, present and prospects"

On May 9, 2024, on occasion ofEurope Day in partnership with department of international relations and political management of Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University and Euroclub HistoryEU the department of international relations and social sciencesof the faculty of humanities and pedagogyof NULES of Ukraine conducted All-Ukrainian scientific and practical webinar "Ukraine's European choice: historical aspect, present and prospects". More than 90 participants joined the event: students and teachers from such educational institutions as Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, Borys Hrynchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, National Aviation University, National Technical University of Ukraine "Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", as well as participants of Ukrainian Euroclubs. The webinar was part of the project "Ukraine-EU: history, realities and prospects", implemented by the HistoryEU Euroclub with the support of the EU Delegation to Ukraine within the framework of the project "Information support for EU networks in Ukraine".

The deputy dean for scientific work of the faculty of humanities and pedagogyof NULES of Ukraine Svitlana Kharchenko, head of the department of international relations and social sciences of NULES of Ukraine Viktoria Khvist, manager of the department of international relations and political management of Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University Viktoria Zahurska-Antonyukaddressed the participants with welcoming words.

The topics of the event participants' speeches concerned the European integration policy of Ukraine and the specifics of the EU policy as a whole. Thus, doctor of sciences in public administration, associate professor of the department of international relations and political management of the State University "Zhytomyr Polytechnic" Viktoria Zahurska-Antonyuk in her speech touched upon the acute problem of loss of human capital in Ukraine in the context of russian aggression and the migration crisis in the EU. This issue was also continued in the reports of Oksana Lytvynchuk candidate of philosophical sciences, Associate Professor of the department of international relations and political management of the State University "Zhytomyr Polytechnic", and Olena Vasylyeva and Sofia Zahlada, 1st year applicants in specialties "International relations, public communications and regional studios" of State University "Zhytomyr Polytechnic".

Iryna Tykhonenko candidate of political sciences, Associate Professor of the department of international relations and foreign policy of the Petro Mohyla National University of Kyiv revealed the history of Ukraine's relations with the EU. Yevhenia Shevtsova, graduate student of the department of international relations and social sciences of NULES of Ukraine, and Selby Kullykova, a 5th-year student in specialty "International relations, public communications and regional studios"  of NULES of Ukraineshared their own experience in implementing the opportunities of young students in the framework of educational and scientific international programs proposed by the EU.

As a result, it can be noted that the participants of the webinar agreed that, despite numerous obstacles and difficult tests, Ukrainians resolutely defend their choice, their ideals, and their principles.
