The department was established in August 2002. Before it had a task of training of highly qualified personnel in this direction, and resolving these issues - ensuring the implementation of educational and scientific and practical research in the field of marketing of current marketing research and implementation of results obtained in the production and training process, processing and submission of proposals for commodity and pricing policy in the implementation of agricultural products, the study of international marketing experience at European and world markets, development of economic mechanisms to create a competitive environment for agricultural enterprises.

After reviewing the activities of the department for the first two years, and given the international experience of training in this area in June 2004 it was renamed the Department of Marketing and International Trade.

Head of the department since its creation is Honored Economist of Ukraine, Professor S.I. Chebotar.
