Classroom activities:
1. Look at the pictures given on page 78. What problems do people have?
2. Complete the sentences with the given pairs of words – Vocabulary, part B, p. 78.
3. Which of the mentioned problems have you experienced? Write at least five sentences using the new words and word combinations about it.
4. Grammar: Second conditionals – part A, p. 78; grammar reference, p. 150.
5. Listening: You are going to hear a conversation between a guest and a hotel receptionist. Before listening look at the depicted pictures and guess in what way they might be connected with the conservation – p. 79.
6. After listening to the conversation put the given sentences into the correct order.
7. Look at the audioscript of the conversation, underline the new words and phrases, check their meanings in the dictionary.

10. Listening: You are going to hear a conversation between John Farnham – a man who rented the car and a car rental office assistant. After listening define the problem with the car and how Mr. Farnman feels about its solution – p. 77.
11. Look at the audioscript of the conversation, underline the new words and phrases, check their meanings in the dictionary – p. 176.
12. Pre-reading: You are going to read a blog about three journeys. Before reading think of the following questions:
- What do you think the good things about each journey might be?
- What kind of problems might happen in each one?
- Which of the three journeys most appeals to You?
Reading: read the given texts, underline the new words and phrases, check their meanings in the dictionary and translate them into Ukrainian.
Post-reading: Without looking at the stories, complete the sentences – part C, p. 78.
