Growing partnership: visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia to NUBiP of Ukraine and planting of the symbolic linden tree
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia to Ukraine Ms. Anica Djamić paid an official visit to the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. The visit was aimed at deepening Interstate humanitarian and educational relations, as well as discussing opportunities for further cooperation in the environmental, scientific and educational cooperation.

The main part of the visit was the planting of a linden seedling on the territory of the University's Botanical Garden – a gift from the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia and personally from Ms. Anica Djamić. The seedling is a clone of the historical linden tree that has been growing in Croatia since the XVI century. According to the ambassador, the linden tree is a traditional Slavic tree, and its planting will symbolize friendship between the Croatian and Ukrainian peoples.
A special symbolism of the ceremony was given by the Croatian tie – the national symbol of Croatia, which was presented to the rector of NUBIP of Ukraine and solemnly put on a linden seedling, emphasizing cultural unity and mutual respect between the two peoples.

The rector of NUBiP of Ukraine Vadym Tkachuk expressed gratitude to Ms. Anica Djamić for the initiative and support of cooperation, noting that the university is open to strengthening bilateral relations in the context of European integration, joint environmental projects, educational exchanges and scientific research.
The planted seedling will be included in the collection plantings of the Botanical Garden, where it will be properly cared for in accordance with the recommendations.
