Constant improvement of performance is one of the key principles of General Quality Management. 25 years ago European Foundation for Quality Management developed the EFQM Excellence Model containing guidelines for achieving and assessing success. EFQM aims at helping business institutions and companies seeking success and willing to compete, regardless of ownership, area of activities, and available resources.
Today EFQM includes over 700 member organizations across the whole world. Its Excellence reward is known all over the world. The objective of the EFQM Excellence Award is to recognise Europe’s best performing organisations, whether private, public or non-profit. Main conditions for participation in European competition is a victory in the national competition, which is held annually within the European countries. The official representative of EFQM in Ukraine is Ukrainian Quality Association. Last year National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine became a prize winner of the Ukrainian National Quality Competition and was the first higher educational establishment that obtained such results.
But NUBiP never stops. Last year we conducted internal audits and evaluated processes of quality management system in all structural subdivisions. An anonymous survey among students and employers was held according to the established standards. The certification of university quality management system by the international certification body "TUV Rheinland" which stated that the quality management system of NUBiP of Ukraine fully meets the requirements of ISO 9001 became the confirmation of the management standard of NUBiP of Ukraine.
Today, quality management system of NUBiP of Ukraine has expanded its focus from consumers to all interested parties in accordance with the international standard ISO 9004:2009 Managing for sustainable success. The approach from the perspective of quality management. As a result, the university gained the victory in the 17th Ukrainian National Quality Competition.
Awarding took place at the Kyiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry during the European Week of Quality in Ukraine within the framework of the international project "Sustainable Development: Economics, Ecology, Excellence and Quality". The award of Ukrainian National Quality Competition was presented by the President of Ukrainian Quality Association, P.Ya. Kalyta, and by the President of International Guild of Quality Experts, Yu.P. Adler.
