Oxana Chaika's Reports on Business Trips to Rome

Our colleague Oxana Chaika, PhD, Associate Professor with the Chair of the Germanic and Romance languages and translation, took part in 2019 EMEA Audit Centre Update (CaseWare & Data Analytics). The event was held in Rome on 10-11 September 2019, immediately preceding the Audit Partners’ Meeting of the Crowe Global accountancy and consulting network.

This year CaseWare Update combined with sessions on the application of the Crowe Audit Centre. The session on the application of the Audit Centre focused primarily on data analytics and how to balance the seemingly infinite capabilities of the technology with a need to perform an efficient audit.

The sessions aimed to advance Strategic Initiative of the Crowe Global network, i.e. to foster a culture of agility to drive technology, innovation, transformation and efficiency. They were a mix of update, and practical and efficient application of tools that are part of the Crowe Audit Centre. According to Oxana Chaika, it was a great opportunity to share experiences with the colleagues in other network firms about their use of the tools, and to pick up tips and tricks as well.

Next, it was participation of Oxana Chaika in the EMEA Auditors’ meeting, which is important indeed to develop business and academic relationships. Being a global practice, every member firm in the EMEA Region with an audit practice is strongly recommended to be represented. The meeting provides audit partners from the EMEA Region with the opportunity to meet and discuss business development opportunities, growing the presence of Crowe Global in the EMEA region, and professional and regulatory developments, as well as foster an academic culture for further growth in cooperation with the European universities.

Networking and building business relationships is an important feature of the meeting. The three days - September 12-14th, 2019, of involvement into building up professional teams had its significant impact. At present, we may start negotiating a collaboration agreement between our university and a number of businesses, and prospect agreement with Sapienza University of Rome.
