Faculty of Animal Sciences and Water Bioresources are expanding scientific cooperation

     The producers of animal products face a lot of challenges in a contemporary globalised world. These challenges are not specific for separate countries, they are common for entire regions and even international markets. Common tasks demand well planned solution. This approach is good as for the prevention of diseases so for the development of new innovative techniques and standard acts.

     Thus, prominent scientists from 22 countries of Europe united to tackle the problem of improvement of the technology of the production of pig products.

     A scientific project “Innovative technologies in the production of pig products based on breeding entire male pigs” was launched according to European research program “European Cooperation in Science and Technology” on February 21, 2017. The coordinator of this program is professor W. Weiler from University of Hochehheim (Germany).

     Head of the department of animal genetics, breeding and biotechnologies of NUBIP of Ukraine A.A. Hetia participated in the first meeting of project participants which was held in Czech University of applied sciences (Prague).

     The following issues of 6 working groups were considered such as genetics, feeding, the technology of breeding animals, the quality of meat, peculiarities of pork processing and the preferences of consumers. Gaps in knowledge were emphasized and possible ways of their filling were discussed.

     The participants accentuated the necessity of spreading the future results of the researches between students of agricultural higher educational establishments and inviting post graduate students to this work.

     Yelizaveta Oleinichenko from Institute of pig breeding and Agro and Industrial Complex of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Ukraine also participated in this meeting.
