Congratulations to teams headed by Kateryna Shavanova and Andriy Bilous on winning the research projects contest for young scientists

August 16, 2016

At the final meeting of the contest committee which selects young researchers’ projects of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine held on August 15 under the chairmanship of Minister Lilia Hrynevych, a number of projects and among them some from our university were approved to win.

This competition was held in Ukraine for the first time. It was announced in subject areas that meet the priorities of Ukraine's participation in Framework Programme of the European Union in research and innovation "Horizon 2020". The Ministry received 439 young scientists projects from 114 universities and research institutions.
17 young research teams from our university participated in the contest. After passing all examination procedure, all projects were assessed and marked. Among 79 projects recommended by the contest committee to finance (more than 70 out of 100 possible points) there are our two projects, which took the 14th (79,5 points) and 37th (75,4 points) positions in the overall ranking.

So we congratulate a young team headed by Kateryna Shavanova, candidate of biological sciences. They will be able to develop algorithms for assessing the safety of agricultural products on the basis of bioinformatics, biosensors and instrumental methods of analysis.

We wish success to the team of young researchers headed by Andriy Bilous, doctor of agricultural sciences. They will be able to find practical solutions to evaluate the amount of carbon in forest ecosystems on the basis of modern systemic approaches.
