Grant support of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Ukraine for the establishment of the Educational Laboratory of Energy Management and Energy Efficiency at NUBiP of Ukraine
Improving energy efficiency in the housing and communal sector, implementing energy saving measures and low-carbon technologies, as well as introducing the energy management system in production are quintessential for strengthening the energy independence of our country. In order to implement the provisions of the Agreement on Accession to the Energy Community, which Ukraine joined in 2011, our country needs to adopt the EU Energy Directives into national laws. One of such steps was the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Law "On Energy Efficiency", which provides for the development of the National Action Plan, local energy plans and long-term Strategy for thermal modernization of buildings. To solve a certain range of tasks, the engineering services market will need to attract a significant number of qualified personnel, especially in the fields of energy audit, energy efficiency certification and implementation of energy management systems in communities and cities.
Understanding the urgency of the issue, Professor of the Department of International Law and Comparative Law Yevheniy Shulga and Acting Head of the Department of Heat Power Engineering Yevhen Antypov initiated the establishment of the Educational Laboratory of Energy Management and Energy Efficiency at the Department of Heat Power Engineering of the Education and Research Institute of Energetics, Automation and Energy Efficiency.
To achieve this goal, a grant application to the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria for a grant of € 19,943.3 was prepared with the support of Vice-Rector For Scientific and Educational Activities Vasyl D. Shynkaruk and Vice-Rector For Scientific and Educational Activities and Development Serhii M. Kvasha. The application was approved and recommended for funding. Recently, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Ukraine Kostadin Kojabashev and Vice-Rector For Scientific and Educational Activities Vasyl D. Shynkaruk signed the Agreement on the implementation of the project, which will be headed by Yevheniy Shulga and Yevhen Antypov.
We express our sincere gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Ukraine and personally to Mr. Kostadin Kojabashev for his significant contribution in strengthening the energy security of Ukraine and the development of the material and technical resources of NUBiP of Ukraine.
