We are confidently stepping into the future: Masters in Management of Investment Activities and International Projects defended their qualification theses
The Department of Production and Investment Management held the defense of theses by full-time students enrolled in the educational and professional program ‘Management of Investment Activities and International Projects'.
Every year, the Department of Production and Investment Management summarizes the results of the educational activities of master's students by organizing the defense of master's theses. This important stage is the completion of one and a half years of intensive study, research and cooperation of students with teachers and business representatives.
In accordance with the Order on the defense of master's qualification theses by students of the second (master's) level in specialty 073 "Management", the Examination Commission was headed by Doctor of Economics, Head of the Department of Economic Theory, Professor Mykola Talavirya.
The Examination Commission consists of:
- Associate member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Economics, Professor Lidiia Shynkaruk;
- PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, and Head of the Department of Production and Investment Management, Tetiana Vlasenko;
- PhD in Public Administration, Associate Professor Anna Dergach;
- Doctor of Philosophy, Assistant of the Department and Secretary of the Commission, Maria Golieva.
The theses covered a wide range of actual issues in project, production, and investment management. As always, this year’s works impressed with their relevance, diversity, detailed calculations, and creative approaches. The students once again convinced the Examination Committee that all the projects presented had practical components and were based on real data. The conclusions and proposals in the theses had practical value.
Notably, all the defended theses had been presented at scientific and practical conferences, with some results published in student research collections. The commission commended the high level of preparation among students and their in-depth knowledge of professional disciplines, which was made possible through the high-quality educational system at NULES. Particular attention was drawn to the relevance of the project topics, modern design approaches, innovation, practical significance, and substantiated calculations, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
Under the guidance of experienced academics such as Professors Lidiia Shynkaruk, Maryna Dielini, and Emiliia Prushkivska, as well as Associate Professors Tetiana Vlasenko, Kateryna Alekseieva, Vitaliy Gavriluk, Anna Dergach, and Tetiana Lobunets, the masters conducted research using both classical analysis methods and modern modeling tools, making their works highly competitive in the labor market.
The projects of industrial pine plantations by Borys Malovany, contactless service points by Ivan Ogoyko, and a safe, autonomous housing complex by Sergiy Torgonsky stood out for their novelty and relevance. The investment projects of the corn seed production plant by Svitlana Kotsupera, the agricultural drone services by Vladyslav Humensky, a network of charging stations for electric vehicles by Oleg Tretyak, and the production of concrete by Oleksandr Shcherbaty proved the boldness of intentions and an individual approach to developing projects in these industries.
The projects supporting military personnel, children, and Ukrainians during the war by addressing emotional challenges, personal development, healthy lifestyles, and proper nutrition were equally notable. Examples included Valentyna Mykhailiuk’s art therapy studio, Mykola Sribniuk’s rehabilitation center, Oleksii Zoria’s career guidance center for schoolchildren, Serhii Ivanchenko’s inclusive co-working space, and Yaroslav Lytvynchuk’s wood-fired bakery.
Agricultural business plans such as ornamental plant nurseries, cherry and rhubarb cultivation, corn, soybean, and mushroom farming in controlled environments were presented by Vadym Markevych, Oleksandr Kramar, Andrii Hanushchak, Oleh Havenchuk, Oleksandr Kolesnyk, and Mykhailo Shevchenko.
Noteworthy were projects such as Bohdan Boiko’s multi-level parking facility, Oleksandr Sokolov’s animal care center, and Maksym Shchoholev’s cosplay café. Business plans for children’s goods stores, construction material outlets, and car services, presented by Ihor Moroz, Andrii Syrota, and Serhii Novychkov, highlighted the profitability of these ideas.
This year’s thesis defenses showcased how academic research can have a tangible impact on modern business. The defense process not only demonstrated the scientific preparation of students but also served as a Launchpad for their careers in project management.
As noted by Associate member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Economics, Prof. Lidiia Shynkaruk, the organizer and founder of the educational program ‘Management of Investment Activities and International Projects’, thesis defenses are a significant event for both students and the educational process as a whole. They symbolize not just the conclusion of academic studies but also the demonstration of a high level of professional readiness, innovation, and commitment to advancing the country’s economy.
The graduates of the Department of Production and Investment Management are confidently stepping into the future, equipped with the knowledge and experience to make effective management decisions and implement successful investment projects.
Congratulations to our master's graduates on successfully defending their theses!
