The Ukrainian nation commemorated the 198th anniversary of an outstanding Ukrainian poet Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko.
On 9 March the delegation headed by the President of Ukraine, Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych, took part in the celebrations held on Chernecha Hora, in Kaniv. Among the participants was the head of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Dmytro Oleksiyovych Melnychuk.
