Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard and additional forces of the State Emergency Service are involved in the forest fire extinguishing in the Luhansk region - report to the President

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held an urgent meeting on the elimination of forest fires in the Novoaydarsky district of the Luhansk region. The meeting was attended by Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak and his Deputy Kyrylo Tymoshenko, as well as Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Mykola Chechotkin.

Units of the National Guard and the Armed Forces of Ukraine were involved in extinguishing the fire on Tuesday pursuant to the instruction of the President. Additional SES forces from the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava regions were also sent to the areas of fire. About 360 people and 85 units of equipment were involved in the firefighting.
