IVAP Workshop November 2025

NUBIP OF UKRAINE STRENGTHENS INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP: PARTICIPATION IN IVAP WORKSHOP 2025

Associate Professors of the Department of Technical Service and Engineering Management. M.P. Momotenko, Natalia Tsyvenkova, and Lyubov Shymko represented NUBiP of Ukraine at the international IVAP Workshop 2025, within the framework of two key European projects: COPILOT and TREATY. The participation of scientists was a crucial step in strengthening the university's position within the European innovation ecosystem and in fostering international partnerships.

The teams from the Faculty of Engineering and Design, the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology, and the Faculty of Information Technology have been actively working on implementing these projects, which are part of the EIT HEI Initiative, in recent years. Their activities focused on enhancing the quality of education, introducing innovative practices, modernizing curricula, and fostering an entrepreneurial culture among students and teachers. The COPILOT and TREATY projects enabled the university to join international research teams, participate in the development of educational reforms, and elevate scientific cooperation to a new level.
Since April 2025, NUBiP has been a participant in the COPILOT transformational project, "Enhancing Deep Tech Innovation and Entrepreneurship Capacities in Sustainable Energy and Clean Technologies for a long-lasting institutional change within European HEIs." It is a large-scale European initiative aimed at strengthening the innovation capacity of higher education institutions, developing entrepreneurship in the field of deep technologies, and forming sustainable innovation ecosystems. COPILOT focuses on sustainable energy development, clean technologies, and deep tech innovations in the fields of sustainable energy and clean technologies. The project promotes cultural and structural change in universities, encourages teachers and students to collaborate internationally, and strengthens research activities in the direction of future technologies.

On June 30, 2024, the university team completed another important project — TREATY: "Nurturing Deep Tech Talents for a Green Energy Transition." Its goal was to train a new generation of specialists in the fields of sustainable energy, digital technologies, and environmental sciences. The project included the development of educational innovation structures, the improvement of innovation and entrepreneurship programs, partnerships with European EIT KICs, the introduction of modern pedagogical methodologies, and the launch of TechWatch, a tool for tracking technological trends in DeepTech, green, and clean technologies. The participation of NUBiP in the project enabled the creation of new formats for international interaction, strengthened the exchange of experiences, and integrated European approaches into training programs.
A logical continuation of this work was the participation of Lyubov Shymko and Natalia Tsyvenkova in the IVAP Workshop 2025, held from November 24 to 26 at the ICE Kraków Congress Center in Kraków. The event brought together approximately 300 participants, including representatives of EIT HEI Initiative projects, experts in the field of innovation, members of EIT KICs, and partner organizations. This international environment has become a unique platform for exchanging experiences, discussing trends in the field of DeepTech, assessing the impact of innovations, and defining strategic approaches to the development of higher education until 2030.
The Workshop program featured numerous keynote speeches, interactive panel discussions, partnership development sessions, discussions on diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as workshops on Deep Tech entrepreneurship and sustainable development. Associate Professor Natalia Tsyvenkova participated in a panel discussion on institutional changes in higher education institutions, where she shared the experience of NUBiP in implementing educational innovations. Associate Professor Lyubov Shymko presented the results of the TREATY project during a dynamic poster session, arousing considerable interest among colleagues from other countries. Participation in thematic sessions enabled the deepening of knowledge, the establishment of international relations, and the expansion of the university's opportunities for further integration into European educational and scientific networks.

For NUBiP of Ukraine, participation in the IVAP Workshop is strategically important, as it contributes to the development of the university's innovative capacity, opens access to new partnerships and research programs, enables us to adopt best practices from European higher education institutions, and strengthens Ukraine's representation in the international academic community. It also highlights the high level of expertise of university scholars and proves that NUBiP is an active participant in shaping the future of European education and research.
The participation of representatives from the COPILOT and TREATY teams in the IVAP Workshop 2025 made a significant contribution to the development of international cooperation at the university and its integration into the global innovation ecosystem. It is such initiatives that form the reputation of NUBiP as a modern, open, and competitive institution of higher education.
