International Round Table «Renovation of the Housing Stock: Regulatory and Technical and Technological Aspects» within the framework of the project «Building Up Skills for Home Renovation One-Stop-Shops»
The Education and Research Institute of Energetics, Automatics and Energy Saving of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine hosted an event within the framework of the project BUSHROSSs. The round table was held in a mixed format and brought together more than 50 participants, including representatives of government agencies, scientists, experts and practitioners in the field of energy saving, construction, housing and communal services, applicants for higher education from Ukraine, as well as international participants.
The main purpose of the event was to discuss comprehensive solutions for the renovation of the housing stock, taking into account modern regulatory requirements, technical capabilities and state support tools. The participants shared their experience in implementing energy efficiency measures, discussed the role of international cooperation and attracting funding for the implementation of relevant initiatives.
Victor Kaplun, Director of the Education and Research Institute of Energetics, Automatics and Energy Saving NULES of Ukraine, In his opening remarks, the project manager congratulated the participants, emphasized the importance of international cooperation and the integration of modern technologies into the process of housing renovation. He spoke about initiatives in the field of energy saving and emphasized the need to train qualified personnel for the effective implementation of renovation projects. In his report, which concerned design solutions for the renovation of buildings in the context of the formation of energy independence of territorial communities, the speaker presented the latest approaches to the renovation of buildings, which reduce energy consumption and increase the level of comfort of residents, gave examples of successful implemented projects that contributed to the energy independence of communities.

Executive Director, Head of the Energy Audit and Energy Management Department of the Energy Efficiency Development Department, Natalia Porokhniuk. She spoke about current programs of state support in the field of energy efficiency, the possibility of obtaining grants and soft loans for thermal modernization of buildings and emphasized the role of international cooperation in this area.

Kyrylo Baranchuk, LLC Danfos using the presentation material, he reported on the updated requirements for ensuring the microclimate and their impact on the restoration and thermal modernization of the construction fund of Ukraine.

Effective Approaches to Reducing Energy Consumption in Residential Buildings, Focusing on Thermal Modernization and Optimization of Heating and Ventilation Systems on the Examples of Implemented Objects Vadym LYTVYN, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Energy Auditors of Ukraine.

Tetiana Tkachenko, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Environmental Protection and Labor Protection Technologies, Kyiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture highlighted the use of green structures that contribute to a comprehensive solution to the problems of energy efficiency of construction.

Victor Mileikovskyi, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation, presented modern solutions for optimizing ventilation that help improve air quality and increase the level of comfort in modernized buildings.

Nina Nikolova (SOFIA ENERGY CENTRE LTD.) She spoke about the European experience of organizing support centers for energy-efficient modernization of housing, operating on the principle of One-Stop-Shops.

Elena Shelimanova and Svitlana Makarevych, Associate Professor of the Department of Power Systems Engineering, Education and Research Institute of Energetics, Automatics and Energy Saving of the NULES of Ukraine, project experts, presented the results of the study within the framework of an international project «Building Up Skills for Home Renovation One-Stop-Shops», which is aimed at improving the training of specialists in the field of housing renovation.


Summing up the results of the event, the participants came to the conclusion that the renovation of the housing stock is a key direction for ensuring energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. Important aspects of the successful implementation of projects in this area are state support, international partnership and the use of modern technologies.
The Project «Building Up Skills for Home Renovation One-Stop-Shops» opens up new opportunities for training specialists and implementing effective solutions in the process of housing modernization.
Further cooperation between scientific institutions, business and government agencies will contribute to the formation of a sustainable housing renovation system that will meet European energy efficiency standards.
