Forbes Ukraine at the University at Buffalo: developing academic ties between the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine and UB
Academic ties between the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine and the University at Buffalo (UB, USA) continue to develop following Olga KRAVCHENKO’s participation in the BridgeUSA Ukraine Programme for Resilience and Reconstruction (UPRR).
During her visit to the University at Buffalo in 2025, Olga KRAVCHENKO, Deputy Dean for International Affairs at the Faculty of Agrobiology of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, established academic links with colleagues at UB. These links were subsequently highlighted in the latest issue of Forbes Ukraine, in which the Faculty of Agrobiology at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine was included in the ‘Top 50 Faculties of 2026’ ranking. The article also highlighted the lectures on agroecology delivered to students at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine by Professor Johannes NITCHE from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University at Buffalo.
In the summer of 2026, whilst on a trip to Kyiv, Alina VERESHCHAKA, Assistant Professor of Teaching in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University at Buffalo, visited the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NULES) and met with Olga KRAVCHENKO. During the meeting, Olga presented several copies of Forbes Ukraine, which were subsequently taken to Buffalo and handed over to Professor Johannes NITCHE, as well as to representatives of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Office of International Education.

The publication provided yet another opportunity to draw attention to the achievements of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine and the academic ties developing between the two universities thanks to BridgeUSA and ongoing collaboration.
Today, these links continue to develop through new academic initiatives, notably a series of research and educational seminars for postgraduate students and early-career researchers from NUBIP and the University at Buffalo. The initiative is coordinated by Olga KRAVCHENKO and Alina VERESHCHAKA with the support of a grant for graduates of American Councils programmes. The programme aims to facilitate the exchange of experience regarding the organisation of PhD studies, academic writing, the preparation of research presentations, scientific communication and professional development.
The development of cooperation between the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine and the University at Buffalo demonstrates how academic links established through international exchange programmes can develop into broader opportunities for collaboration between lecturers, researchers and postgraduate students
