The department specialises in teaching disciplines in genetics, breeding, selection and biotechnology of animals, as well as conducting research on improving the productivity of all animal species.

The purpose of the department:

- Conducting all types of educational, scientific, methodological, scientific, cultural and educational work in the process of training specialists of Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in the specialities 204 ‘Technology of production and processing of livestock products’, 207 ‘Aquatic bioresources and aquaculture’, 211 ‘Veterinary medicine’;

- Implementation of the results of scientific and technological progress in animal husbandry; - Training of scientific personnel through postgraduate and doctoral studies in the specialities: 204 - Technology of production and processing of livestock products;

- advanced training of scientific and pedagogical staff and specialists in the livestock industry;

- conducting educational work with students and trainees of the University;

- carrying out other activities in accordance with the Statute of the University:

- for the educational degree ‘Bachelor’ for the specialities ‘Technology of production and processing of livestock products’, ‘Aquatic bioresources and aquaculture’, ‘Public health’;

  Master's degree: for the specialities ‘Technology of production and processing of livestock products’, ‘Veterinary medicine’.
