Functions of the laboratory:
conducting laboratory and practical classes in accordance with the current curricula and schedule of the educational process in the disciplines assigned to the Department: ‘Animal Breeding’;
for postgraduate students and students of Master's degree programmes: ‘Genomics’, ‘Modern methods of selection in animal husbandry’, ‘Conservation of genetic resources of animal husbandry’;
improvement of the quality of the initial process and active participation of the Laboratory staff in the educational work with the University students;
Molecular genetic research
Within the framework of the European Union Erasmus+ project ‘Improving laboratory practice skills of agri-food sector professionals in Eastern Europe’, a molecular genetics laboratory was established at the Department of Animal Genetics, Breeding and Biotechnology, where students have the opportunity to learn how to work with modern devices and master the methods of DNA extraction and polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
