The faculty trains specialists of ED "Bachelor" in the specialty "Mechanical Engineering" and "Construction and Civil Engineering", as well as ED "Master" in the specialties "Machinery and equipment of agricultural production", "Equipment of the forest complex"  and "Industrial and civil construction". After graduation, graduates of ED "Bachelor" are awarded a qualification - Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Civil Engineering. The master's graduate receives a full higher education and qualifications: a design engineer specializing in "Machinery and equipment for agricultural production", a mechanical engineer - "Equipment of the forest complex" and a civil engineer - "Industrial and civil construction".

At the faculty there are about 600 full-time and part-time students of educational degrees "Bachelor" and "Master". Since 2008, the faculty has started training masters in research and production areas. At the moment in the specialization "Machinery and equipment of agricultural production" there are master's programs: "Construction, design and testing of agricultural machinery", "Mechatronic systems of agricultural machinery". From the specialization "Equipment of the forest complex" there is a master's program "Construction, design and testing of equipment of the forest complex".

One of the requirements of today's employer in the labor market is knowledge of a foreign language. Therefore, in order to increase the level of training of modern specialists at the faculty, a number of disciplines are taught in English.

     Disciplines "Materials Science" and "Technology of Structural Materials" are taught by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Aftandiliants Yevhenii Hryhorovych in English since 2015.

For faster mastering of English terminology, which is typical for these disciplines, a bilingual textbook "Construction materials engineering" was published in 2016 in Ukrainian, and in 2017 in English (authors Aftandiliants Ye.H. Zazymko O.V. Lopatko K.H. Ivanova O.V.).

The availability of a bilingual manual made it possible to test students' knowledge by providing them with topics of presentations from the manual, which students prepared, reported and discussed in English.

In preparation for the exam in the disciplines, students made presentations in English, which were devoted to the physical and technological foundations of metal deformation, special methods of casting, stress, deformation, defects and quality control of welds, methods of obtaining metal powders, special welding methods.

Several students did not limit themselves to the material provided in the bilingual textbook "Construction materials engineering", but independently found on the Internet and added to their presentations interesting information that was not given in the textbook.

The specialist acquires in-depth knowledge of design, engineering, testing of agricultural machinery and forestry equipment based on the theory of technical systems, a clear understanding of the stages of system assessment and testing methods of agricultural and forestry machinery according to industry, national and international standards. Machine engineering is implemented through the formation, structuring and solution of optimization problems of analysis and synthesis.

Strengthening the material and technical base

One of the areas of training such personnel is the training of masters in the calculation, design and construction of machinery and equipment for agricultural production. Training of masters-designers is based on a high level of preparation of fundamental and general technical disciplines, and also knowledge of prospects of development of designs of agricultural machines and the equipment of a forest complex of a certain function.

The educational process at the faculty is based on departments. Today the faculty unites 6 departments: design of machines and equipment; mechanics; technologies of construction materials and materials science; descriptive geometry, computer graphics and design; reliability of equipment; construction.

The NULES library of Ukraine provides educational and scientific literature to students and teachers. One of the branches of the library with a reading room for 90 seats is located in the building № 11 where the faculty is located. Today the library fund is 45,490 copies of 2,372 items, etc.

During the educational process, students of the faculty improve their skills by participating in seminars "Modern technologies in crop production", which is held jointly with the University of Hohenheim (Institute of Cereals) (Stuttgart, Germany), the German Agricultural Center in Ukraine NimAC.

In order to get acquainted with the latest proposals of modern agricultural machinery and technologies for crop and livestock production, construction machinery and technology, students of the faculty are regular visitors of international exhibitions, such as: "Agro", "Grain Technologies", "Agroforum", "IterAGRO", "High technologies "," Intertechxpo "," Design, construction, repair ", etc.

It is also an element of training highly qualified personnel to visit modern enterprises of agricultural engineering of Ukraine. Such an enterprise is JSC "Elvorti" (Kropivnitsky), where students of the faculty have the opportunity to pass and production practices with the prospect of future employment in this company has the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of the design office, the stages of creating new developments, the use of software, as well as the procedure for developing technical documentation, is essential for the future engineer-designer.

This event allows you to look at your own work from a different angle and master the skills of the speaker, which they will need not only during the main defense of master's theses, but also in future professional activities.

In 2014, on the basis of the faculties of construction and design and mechanical and technological, an "Exhibition of the latest agricultural machinery" was opened in the inner perimeter of the educational building №11. The rector of the university Nikolaenko SM addressed the distinguished guests, teachers and students: new equipment, current knowledge, modern approaches to the training of future engineers - this is what we really need today. Welcoming remarks were made by Ihor Kutovyi, General Director of JohnDeere-Ukraine, Roman Osadchyi, General Director of Amako, Oleksii Koloturskyi, Commercial Director of Versatile, and Valentyn Myronenko, Deputy Director of IMESG.
