Education

In 2005, she graduated with honors from the Ukrainian State Forestry University with a degree in "Organizational Management" and received a Master's degree in Organizational Management.

In 2011, she defended her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Sciences in the specialty 08.00.06 - Economics of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection on the topic "Organizational and Economic Mechanism for Ensuring the Effective Use of Forest Lands (on the Example of the Carpathian Region of Ukraine)";

in 2018 - a dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Sciences in the specialty 08.00.06 - Economics of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection on the topic "Environmental and Economic Efficiency of Land Use in the Conditions of Deepening Institutional Transformations"

Scientific interests

Land relations management mechanisms; land use economics; land management; rural development; sustainable land use; control over land use and protection; efficiency of forest land use.

Participates in the implementation of scientific works under PND 38 "Ensuring land management and cadastre" ("Land management"), the main executing institution is the Institute of Land Use of the NAAS of Ukraine.

The scientific and educational and methodological achievements of Sakal O. V. include more than 240 scientific and educational and methodological works, including publications indexed in the scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science. Has 5 certificates of copyright registration for the work.

Member of the specialized academic council D 26.004.20 with the right to accept for consideration the defense of dissertations for the degree of Doctor (Candidate) of Economic Sciences in the specialty 08.00.06 - Economics of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.

Member of the editorial board of the Scientific Bulletin of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas. Series: Economics and Management in the Oil and Gas Industry; electronic scientific professional publication "Economics. Management. Innovations" (series: Economic Sciences).

In order to improve her skills and professional development, she systematically participates in educational and scientific-applied events, in particular:

  • FAO Global Symposium on the Role of Soils in Food Security (GSOIL4N);
  • Global Symposium on Soils and Water (GSOWA);
  • individual courses of the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC);
  • practical training on the preparation of national reports on the state of the environment within the framework of the project “Implementation of general principles and methods of operation of the Common Environmental Information System in the Eastern Partnership countries” (“ENISEIS II East”);
  • studied the experience of the Association for European Cooperation in Science and Technology in Kyiv (COST Info Day in Kyiv);
  • advanced training course “R&D and cooperation with business”, which was held within the framework of the USAID project “Economic Support to Ukraine”;
