The Department of Land Resources Management has a group called “Innovative Methods in Land Resources Management” under the leadership of Prof. Dorosh O.S. and Assoc. Prof. Butenko E.V. Students attend extracurricular lectures and seminars with interest, participate in discussions, and discover new areas of professional development.

The purpose of the group is to familiarize students with methods of performing geodetic work in the field of land management, mastering modern additional knowledge and skills, as well as in-depth study of disciplines related to land management and land resources management.

The leaders of the group systematically organize various educational, scientific, and production research using innovative methods. In particular, the game-based learning method, which is widely used in developed countries, demonstrates significantly higher efficiency compared to traditional approaches, since practical activities contribute to better assimilation of information. This approach was used during a lesson on the topic “Using UAVs”. The participants of the group took photographs of the territory of the 6th building of NUBiP in order to experience all stages of the work process in practice. For this, they used a UAV (4X PRO drone) and specialized software for processing aerial photographs and creating 3D models. The work was carried out in the Pix4D program, which allows converting images obtained from the UAV into high-precision 2D maps and 3D models with coordinate reference.

Students involved in the group's activities, together with the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department, including the group leaders, regularly participate in scientific and practical conferences of young scientists and students, and also publish theses and articles in professional publications of Ukraine.

Participation in the "Innovative Methods in Land Resources Management" group gives students the opportunity to master a number of important competencies, including:

the ability to solve complex tasks in performing geodetic work in the field of land management and related industries;

mastery of modern equipment and technologies in geodesy, photogrammetry and remote sensing of the Earth;

skills of independent work and self-education;

the ability to apply various methods and techniques in the implementation of design solutions in land management, including the construction of surveying justification, updating and correcting cartographic materials, determining areas, designing and drawing boundaries of land plots in nature.
