Specialty 212 - Veterinary Hygiene, Sanitation and Expertise

Parasitology and invasive diseases discipine is studying zooparasites, their life cylces, disease and measures for control and prophylaxys health of various animals, birds and fish. This is one of the major clinical disciplines, which forms a specialist of veterinary medicine. The main role of the discipline is to learn the structure and development of pathogens and parasite disease prevention measures and treatment in the farms of different directions. The main attention is paid to the zoonoses, are common diseases to human and animals.

The purpose of program is the acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge on diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious  (parasitic) diseases, practical skills in conducting antiparasitic activities in livestock, swine farms and to prepare students for independent practical work.

Objectives of study discipline

Based on the description of veterinarian work, every student should has the following basic knowledge of invasive disease of animals:

1. Pathogens;

2. Economic losses;

3. The life cycle of parasites;

4. Epizootological data;

5. Pathogenesis;

6. Clinical signs of the disease;

7. Pathological changes;

8. Diagnosis;

9. Treatment;

10. Preventive measures;

11. Control and Health measures for animals (ruminants, horses, swine, dogs, cats, exotic animals, birds and fish) against parasites.

      After finished study of these discipplines students should be able to make an accurate diagnostic of parasitic diseases, conduct laboratory research of various material from sick animals for the identification of disease agents, lead the differential diagnosis,  practicing a modern methods of laboratory research.
