SYSTEMATIC AND COHERENT IS THE KEY TO SUCCESSFUL TEAMWORK!

     The international activities of the Department of Animal Biology, Faculty of Livestock Raising and Water Bioresources are aimed at establishing contacts and developing cooperation with foreign educational institutions, organizations and institutions, in particular: maintaining relations with research institutions and educational institutions in Germany (Humboldt University, Berlin), UK (Scottish Agrarian College), Georgia (Department of Animal Husbandry of the Academy of Agrarian Sciences), Canada (University of Saskatchewan), USA (University of Nebraska), Poland (Institute of Zootechnics, Krakow), Moldova (Institute of Biotechnology and Veterinary Medicine), Republic of Belarus agricultural academy, etc.

     One of the priority areas of international cooperation of the department is training and internships for research and teaching staff, in particular: professor Inna Kurbatova, associate professor Lydmyla Chepil underwent internships at Iowa State University (USA), professor Anna Lykhach passed an internship under the program «Umiędzynarodowienie szkolnictwa wyższego», Warsaw (Poland), associate professor Julia Osadcha internship under the program «New and innovative pedagogical methods» at the University of Kuyavia (Wroclaw) and the University of Economics (Krakow), (Poland).

    Scientific and pedagogical staff of the department are members of the editorial board of respected publications indexed by the database «Web of Science», in particular: professor Roman Kulibaba is a member of the editorial board of the journal «Science Science and Practice», associate professor Ivan Mityai is a member of the editorial board of the scientific journal «Ukrainian Journal of Ecology». In addition, the head of the department, academic Mykola Sakhatsky is a permanent member of the scientific and organizational committee of the annual International scientific-practical conference «Actual problems of intensive livestock development», Gorki, Republic of Belarus.

   The number of employees, who have a B2 certificate in a foreign language is constantly growing. Thus, professors: Kurbatova I., Lykhach A., associate professors: Degtyarenko O., Osadcha J., Chepil L. are have a certificate of level B2 in English. It is worth noting the fact that the Department of Animal Biology teaches in English various courses for foreign students by professor Kurbatova I. and associate professor Afanasenko V.

    Research and teaching staff and graduate students of the department participate in international conferences, congresses, symposia, which take place not only in Ukraine but also far beyond its borders. So for the first three months of 2021 the following took part: IV International scientific-practical conference «ACHIEVEMENTS AND PROSPECTS OF MODERN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH», Buenos Aires, Argentina; international scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the birth of Academician L.S. Berga, Chisinau, Moldova.

    XI International Scientific and Practical Conference «Topical issues of modern science and education», Tallinn, Estonia; UBC PAW 5th Animal Welfare Conference; webinars: «The Value of Water: Lessons learned from the USAID Resilient Waters Program»; «Clarivate»; «Smart Farming: Introducing Israeli Expertise and Technology for Caribbean Agriculture».

     Head of the department, academician Mykola Sakhatsky is an honorary member of the World Poultry Science Association (VNAP) and associate professor Ivan Mityai is a member of the Bureau of the Menzbirov Society of Ornithologists of Northern Eurasia.

   Therefore, the department does not stop at what has been achieved, because there is something to strive for, where to move and what to learn! To be continued...
