In 2004, he graduated with honors from the National Agrarian University with a degree in Land Management and Cadastre and received a Master's degree.
In 2009, he defended his dissertation in the specialty 08.00.06 - economics of natural resources and environmental protection on the topic "Environmental and economic assessment of agricultural land use in market conditions"
The main areas of scientific and scientific-organizational research are regulation of land relations, land management, land use economics, land degradation, land use monitoring, rational use and protection of land, optimization of agricultural land use, photogrammetry, remote sensing, unmanned systems.
Butenko E.V.'s scientific achievements include over 200 scientific and educational-methodical works: 128 scientific, 35 educational-methodical, including 6 monographs, 3 textbooks, 46 articles in scientific professional publications of Ukraine and 6 publications indexed in the scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science.
