QUALITY OF EDUCATION IN FOCUS AT THE INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION ORGANISING COMMITTEE MEETING
On 26 June 2026, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine hosted an online meeting of the Organising Committee for the preparation for accreditation by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE), featuring expert Christophe BUHOT.
The meeting was attended by: Oleksandr VALCHUK, Dean of the Faculty, Chairman of the Organising Committee; Mykola TSVILIKHOVSKYI, Chairman of the Faculty Academic Council; Maryna HALAT, Liaison Officer, Co-Chair of the Organising Committee; Volodymyr MELNYK, Guarantor of the "Veterinary Medicine" educational programme; Deputy Deans and Heads of Departments.
The event was dedicated to the quality of education, the quality management system and monitoring of student training processes, and the coverage of these issues in the self-evaluation report; as well as to a detailed review of the updated curriculum for Master’s degree students under the educational programme "Veterinary Medicine", specialty H6 "Veterinary Medicine".
The Dean of the Faculty, Oleksandr VALCHUK, delivered the opening remarks to the participants, welcoming everyone present and emphasizing the importance of ensuring the compliance of the educational programme with modern European standards. He noted the status of the faculty's preparation for accreditation as of June 2026 and outlined the faculty's further steps on this path.
Christophe BUHOT provided answers and clarifications to the questions that remained open from the previous meeting and shared with the attendees the specifics of educational quality management in European faculties of veterinary medicine.
Mykola TSVILIKHOVSKYI spoke about the peculiarities of educational programme accreditation by NAQA (National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance) and post-accreditation monitoring.
Separate issues considered included student surveys, teacher evaluation, professional development and pedagogical proficiency training, as well as surveys of teaching and support staff regarding social welfare and the workplace environment. Special importance was attached to the surveying of employers and stakeholders.
The meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere and facilitated the alignment of the next steps of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to meet the requirements of the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE). Following the results, the parties agreed to continue cooperation on the implementation of joint tasks.
