History of the department

The beginning of the training of specialists in our specialty is 2001, when the National Agrarian University (NAU) received a license from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. According to the decree of the rector Dmitry Aleksandrovich Melnychuk, the Faculty of Quality and Safety of AIC was created, the first among the higher educational institutions of the agrarian sector, and the Department of Standardization and Certification of Agricultural Products, as the graduating department.

The first head of the department was D.S.G.N., Professor Gumenyuk GD, (2001-2008, 2011 - 2013), which organized the work of the graduating department and, together with the teaching and teaching staff, provided the educational process educational-methodical literature, normative documents, methodological instructions and other components of the educational process.

During the 16-year history of its existence, the department was headed by: Ph.D., Ph.D., Art. teacher Karlaschuk SV (2008-2009), Candidate of Biological Sciences, Senior Researcher Novozhilov Ye.V. (2009-2011), d.t.n. Nesterova L.O. (2014-2015).

From September 1, 2015, the department is headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Sukhenko Vladislav Yuriyov, Specialist in the implementation of the food safety management system in accordance with ISO 22000: 2005 requirements; Food Safety Management Systems in accordance with ISO 22000: 2005 and ISO 19011: 2011. Specialist in conducting an internal audit of food safety management systems in accordance with the requirements and provisions of the standards ISO 22000: 2005 and ISO 19011: 2011, the internal auditor of the food safety management system in accordance with the requirements and provisions of the standards ISO 22000: 2005 and ISO 19011: 2011; internal auditor of the management system in accordance with the requirements and provisions of international standards ISO 9001: 2008 and ISO 19011: 2011 and quality management systems in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001: 2008. 

 

      At present, the department is a structural subdivision of the Faculty of Food Technologies and Quality Management of AIC products, and the dean of the faculty is D.Sc., professor L.V. Bal-Prilipko By 2015, the department was part of the Ukrainian Institute of Biological Resources and Safety of Life, headed by Professor S.D. Melnichuk.

In the first academic year, the specialist was trained for specialist "Specialist" only for full-time studies, starting from the second year and for correspondence, and in the same year the preparation of masters began.

For the training of specialists in this specialty, curricula were developed for disciplines that enabled students to master the theoretical knowledge of standardization, certification, quality management and other disciplines and be able to apply them in practical work.

Regarding the quality of the curriculum under preparation, it is pleasing to announce that in 2009 the International Organization for Standardization announced the next competition for the ISO degree of higher education in the field of standardization. The Dean's Office of the Faculty together with the Department of Standardization and Certification of the village of. products prepared documents and submitted to the ISO Master Degree Program in the field of Quality, Standardization and Certification. The program was highly appreciated and NUBiP Ukraine together with the other four universities of foreign countries entered the top five universities of the world.

Taking into account the interests of the agrarian sector in our curriculum, there are disciplines that are studied only at our university, for example, standardization and certification of agricultural land. products; quality management s.-g. products and production; methods of quality assurance products.

Such a set of disciplines in the initial program enables our graduates to acquire knowledge and skills in quality management, standardization, certification and other disciplines that form specialists and allow this knowledge to be used at agricultural enterprises of different ownership forms, in the departments of quality, standardization, certification of agricultural and processing enterprises, research institutes, control laboratories, management bodies of different levels, etc. The results of the work of the dean's office, the department's faculty, departments of our and other faculties for the period 2001-2017 are presented in the table. 2. At present, 890 graduates receive diplomas, and all of them with high quality of education (Table 1), 116 diplomas with honors. A particularly high level of attestation by the Examining Board was noted in the first academic years during the preparation of the OCR "Specialist" (4.7 - 4.8 points), when the passing point for admission to our specialty was set at least 4.5. Therefore, one third of the graduates received honors diplomas.
