Scientific work of the circles of the Department of Soil Science and Soil Protection named after prof. M.K. Shikula

In accordance with the order No 116 of 13.02.2026 "On the first round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the fields of knowledge and specialties in 2025/2026 academic year" On March 26, 2026, a meeting on the presentation of works was held at the Faculty of Agrobiology. The commission, chaired by the director of the Research Institute of Plants and Soil Science, Professor Lyudmula SHEVCHUK, heard the presented student works, which included associate professor Olena PIKOVSKA from the Department of Soil Science.

The works of members of three scientific circles of the department were submitted to the competition.

With a bright presentation on the topic "Comparative analysis of instrumental methods of soil moisture monitoring on irrigation systems" from the circle "Meliorator", head associate professor Anna YAROSH, scientific work was presented by Denys YASINSKY, who analyzed in detail the different approaches and tools for determining soil moisture, which is especially important in the conditions of climate aridization.

Two works from the circle "Biology of Microorganisms" were presented to the commission, headed by Associate Professor Maria FEDELESH-GLADUNETS, namely the work of Karina LEBEDENKO on the topic "The influence of microorganisms and organic residues on the processes of soil formation and fertility of forest soils" and YASINSKY Denis - "Effectiveness of binary soybean crops".

The work of the circle "Grunter", the head - Associate Professor Kateryna KARABACН, was presented by ZAGYNAJKO Oleksandr and LOY Volodymyr with the work "Development of reclamation and phytoli-liature measures to restore the fertility of the land plot violated by hostilities".

Despite the fact that the above works did not take prizes, but such experience was useful and encouraged further scientific work.
